Each year, with the input of undergraduate delegates, practitioners, government officials and academics, the Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights (NUCHR), the largest student-organized human rights conference in the U.S., chooses a theme to analyze through a human rights framework.
This year’s theme, “Human Rights in Transit: Issues of Forced Migration,” will focus on forced migration across borders, and will analyze the role of borders on the universality of human rights and the obligation of countries of origin and host countries to protect and preserve the rights of migrants.

Katharine Nasielski, JCUA’s former JMCBI fellow, is director of NUCHR and has been working hard to organize this event and to inform and engage her classmates and others on the importance of human rights issues.
