Even as the House debates healthcare just a short distance from here, our focus is on immigration reform. Just a moment ago, the March for America got underway, as tens of thousands of people from Chicago and the rest of the country are here to show their support.

Si Se Puede! The crowd is chanting as Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) is making an impassioned plea for immigration reform, NOW!

The Jewish Council on Urban Affairs is well represented by Peggy Slater, Tom Walsh, Irene Lehrer Sandalow and Tarik Kemper.

We’re also standing with Gideon Aronoff of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), with whom JCUA has been partnering (along with Jewish Community Action) in so much of our work for comprehensive immigration reform.
