Immigrant Rights Advocacy Day in Springfield on March 3

Join JCUA, more than 30 organizations and hundreds of leaders and allies Thursday, March 3 at the Illinois state Capitol to advocate for the protection of services for the immigrant community.

The goal of this trip is to urge elected officials to continue supporting programs that promote immigrant integration and to reject initiatives like HB 1969 that create distrust between immigrants and enforcement officials, and destroy families and communities while wasting taxpayer dollars.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights is working with law enforcement officials, religious leaders and city and suburban legislators from both parties to craft legislation that makes sure that local taxpayer dollars are not being used on mandates not currently funded at the federal level.

It is essential that our elected officials in Illinois hear from a diversity of communities that Illinois is a state that welcomes and protects immigrants.

Make your voice heard!
