In the beginning of August, America watched as shootings, fires and vandalism targeted American Muslims and American Sikhs.  At least six communities in one week saw acts of hate perpetrated on their places of worship.

Here in the Chicagoland Area we saw:

In each instance, JCUA and other multi-faith partners in those communities rallied to support their neighbors with a loud cry of solidarity. They showed strength and support to counter discrimination. Together we now ask: what can we as people of faith do in the face of growing anti-Muslim sentiment? How do we build relationships of trust that highlight the values we share?

On Monday, October 22 at 3:00pm CST, the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Campaign will host an interactive webinar dedicated to mobilizing faith leaders to address anti-Muslim sentiment.

Acts of solidarity happen on a daily basis when people of all faiths reach across their differences to learn about our varied traditions and to address issues of common concern.  Such partnerships have transformative power.  By learning from clergy and lay leaders who are engaged daily in this work, we can coordinate efforts across distance to end anti-Muslim discrimination.   Join us to learn from leaders!
